Promenade in Your Dreams
In 2001, International College, a private school in Beirut, invited
Nada Sehnaoui to create an installation on the school’s grounds.
While visiting the school, the artist felt the urge to involve
students in the work. She did so by inviting them to reply to the
question “What would be the school of your dreams?” One thousand
seven hundred and thirty students submitted either written texts or
drawings in response, with which she constructed Promenade in Your
Dreams. The installation was located in a large open-air
amphitheater, that was usually used at the time by the school for
award ceremonies.
