the month of April 1999, Nada Sehnaoui was constantly projected back to April
of 1975 and felt compelled to revisit this page of the past. April 13, 1975
marks the first day of the fifteen-year Lebanese war.

the full year of 1999, Nada Sehnaoui reworked and painted over the front page
of L’Orient-LeJour, the only Lebanese Francophone newspaper. Painting
the Orient-Le Jour is her first body of work
to be exhibited as an installation in an art gallery.
